Mercury Transits the Sun (November 8, 2006) : On November 8, 2006 the planet Mercury passed in front of the sun. I was unable to view the entire event due to the sun setting before the event was over. Images were taken with a Nikon D200 mounted on a Celestron 8" Schmidt Cassegrain telescope. A solar filter was used. NEVER STARE AT THE SUN, ESPECIALLY THROUGH A TELESCOPE, WITHOUT THE PROPER FILTER.
