Cape Kiwanda, Cape Lookout, Three Arch Rocks (October 3, 2008) : On day 8 of our trip, we continued up the coast heading for a Hwy 26 to take us back towards Portland. It was still pretty wet but were were able to snap a few pictures off the coast.

Spouting Horn, Devils Churn, Seal Rock, Yaquina Bay and Devils Punchbowl (October 2, 2008) : On Day 7 we continued our trek up the Oregon Coast stopping at the various touristy places along the way. The weather was getting worse and worse but I think the fog works for the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Unfortunately the light wasn't on.

Haceta Head Lighthouse (October 1&2, 2008) : At the end of day 6 of our trip we arrived at Haceta Head before sunset and got some shots, then drove back to Florence for our hotel. The next morning we got up to get some daytime shots but the weather had turned foggy&rainy. I suppose it's a blessing in disquise since a lighthouse is designed for this kind of weather. Unfortunately it was the beginning of 3 days of rain.

Upqua Lighthouse, Oregon Dunes (October 1, 2008) : The late afternoon of day 6 was spent getting to Haceta Head for sunset. We made a couple quick stops. The first was at Umpqua Lighthouse. The lighthouse was in the middle of a small group of homes for the Coast Guard and family that worked there so there was only one good shot. Oregon Dunes looked very interesting but by then we were getting tired so we didn't wander too far from the car. The last picture is of a waterfall in the parking lot at the Best Western in Florence.

Cape Arago Area (October 1, 2008) : There is a lot to see in the Cape Arago Area. Simpsons Reef is a spot just off the coast where sea lions like to hang out. Shore Acres State Park has a nice small botanical garden and a trail that works it's way along the cliffs . I was amazed at how much was in bloom in October in the gardens. Finally, there is the Cape Arago Lighthouse. There is a small pullover that has a view of it but it's very far away as you can see in the photos. If you want to see where all the photos were taken, be sure to click the "Map This" button at the upper right corner of the page.

Face Rock (September 30, 2008) : At the end of day 5 of our Oregon trip we finally got to the coast. After driving at least 9 hours (Hotel to Crater Lake to get tripod, and then all the way back to the coast) we were very happy to finally see the Pacific Ocean. We were also lucky to get a decent sunset.
